Marjory Zoet Bankson Author & Artist Marjory Zoet Bankson is a published author, working artist, and seasoned spiritual guide. She became President of Faith At Work in 1985, and continued as editor/publisher of Faith@Work magazine until 2008. Now she writes, speaks and facilitates group discernment events for churches and clergy groups. Her latest books are Creative Aging: Rethinking Retirement and Non-retirement in a Changing World and The Soulwork of Clay: a Hands-on Approach to Spirituality. As a potter, she is known for making unfired burial urns. A graduate of Radcliffe College (Harvard University), she has an M.A. in American history from the University of Alaska and an honorary doctorate from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1999 -- cited for her work in lay ministry through Faith At Work. Earlier books, Call to the Soul, Seasons of Friendship, and Braided Streams, are biblically-based and useful for small group study. The Banksons have been married 50 years and make their home in Alexandria, Virginia. They lead a yearly work-pilgrimage to Guatemala and co-pastor a church on Matinicus Island, Maine, each summer. |
