Women In Harmony

Women in Harmony celebrates  its 25th anniversary this season. Known for stylistic versatility and bold programming, our 60-voice women's chorus sings for the empowerment of women and all forms of social justice.  We celebrate a diverse membership in both personal and musical terms, achieving musical excellence in a warm, enduring community. We make a point of featuring women composers, especially those from Maine, and have performed two commissioned works.  We have also released two CDs, At Ten in 2004 and A Voice Upon the Mountain in 2011.  Women in Harmony presents concerts in January and May and offers an outreach ensemble that can represent the larger chorus at community events throughout the year.  We frequently partner with local non-profit organizations in pursuit of worthy social causes. This is but one aspect of the bridge-building, peace-seeking mission that animates our singing.
